About Brighouse

Brighouse is in the heart of Richmond. Due to its location in Richmond’s downtown core, Brighouse is mostly single-family residential, equipped with a variety of multi-family housing, including extravagant condominiums and apartments along No 1 Rd, and near No 2 Rd, along Westminster Highway and Granville Ave. Brighouse gives us a modern urban atmosphere. From a vast variety of shopping malls and outlets to the Richmond Public Library and Richmond Ice Centre, all the amenities right outside your door. There’s even an RV park to the north, along the Fraser River.

On the Road

Richmond-Brighouse Station is the main Skytrain station located within central Brighouse, Richmond. Richmond is a culturally diverse and geographically unique community centrally located on Canada’s West Coast, in Metro Vancouver. The continuing development of the City’s downtown core and waterfront areas, and the recently completed construction of the Canada Line rapid transit system, as well as the legacy of the Richmond Olympic Oval,  ensures that Richmond’s transformation is ongoing. Translink provides access to numerous bus services to Richmond, including the C94 Richmond Oval/Brighouse Station and the C96 East Cambie/Brighouse Station routes. The most efficient way for transit users to commute to other parts of the Greater Vancouver area, or anywhere for that matter is to jump on the Canada Line at the Richmond-Brighouse station.

Shop Till You Drop in Brighouse

Richmond Centre is the largest shopping centre within Brighouse. Richmond Centre has you covered, from clothing stores, jewellers, to electronics stores. Richmond Centre also includes a dental clinic and a physiotherapy centre, all under one roof.  Lansdowne Centre is another large mall, that has a wide variety of stores and services. With 130+ brand name retailers and one-of-a-kind specialty shops and services, Lansdowne Centre is THE place to shop. For the fairly large Chinese population within Brighouse, Aberdeen Centre or Yaohan Centre, both cater for a unique Asian culture experience. It is also only a ten-minute drive or 20 minutes transit ride from Vancouver International airport, McArthur Glen Outlets, and less than 5 to world-renowned Richmond Night Market.

Brighouse’s Taste Bud Adventure

Brighouse’s proximity to Richmond’s downtown core means the neighbourhood offers a vast variety of restaurants to entice even the most discriminating taste buds. Whether you’re looking for a fancy evening with a special someone or it’s a family night out with the kids, Brighouse has restaurants to conquer your cravings. From seafood, fast food, Chinese, Thai, sushi, Mediterranean, or even Afghan cuisine, Brighouse has something to satisfy your taste.

Active and Healthy Living

Brighouse also can brag about being home to Minoru Park, which houses the Richmond Public Library, Richmond Cultural Centre, Minoru Aquatic Center, and an assortment of sporting fields. With several options for residents to stay active and healthy. Minoru Park alone offers 2 bowling greens, 5 tennis courts, basketball court, clement track, and even a cricket pitch. Minoru Park is a hub for additional cultural facilities also, such as the Richmond Art Gallery, and the Richmond Arts Centre. Some of the indoor recreation facilities include Minoru Arenas and Minoru Place Activity Centre. Similar to Minoru Park, the Richmond Ice Centre also offers residents a full ice arena for hockey practices and skating. Residents also have access to the Lang Centre, a 3,000-square-foot community centre that offers sports, such as badminton and soccer, as well as a gym.

Education is Important

Brighouse isn’t only about adventure and history. It’s also about the future; its residents’ future. Brighouse is a well-established school district (District 38) that provides opportunities for individual growth, showing the path to their full potential. Brighouse offers not one but two elementary schools: Samuel Brighouse Elementary and William Cook Elementary. Richmond High Secondary is home like a second home to the teenagers of Brighouse. Richmond High established a proud and distinguished history of academic and extracurricular excellence and helped thousands of young people move on to successful lives. It doesn’t stop there, also housing Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Trinity Western University, Brighouse makes it easy and convenient for school goers to not waste too much time with their commute.
